Two-factor authentication

At Davy, the security of our clients’ accounts online is of paramount importance. To help strengthen account security, we use a login process called ‘Two-factor authentication’, which provides an additional layer of protection when logging into your myDavy account.

How does two-factor authentication work?

When you log into your account with your username (6 digit number) and password, a 4 digit single-use verification code will be automatically sent to the mobile phone number associated with your account. You will be asked to enter this 4 digit code to complete the log in process. Please note each verification code is valid for ten minutes. Please ensure you can receive SMS texts on your mobile, for example, if you are abroad or out of coverage.

When you open an account with Davy, we send your myDavy username (6-digit number) by post. You can complete your myDavy account set up by following the steps  https://www.mydavy.ie/setup. This will allow you to set up your password and login to you account online. When logging in, please note your password is case sensitive.

If you've forgotten your myDavy username, please follow the steps in the video below to retrieve it.

If you've forgotten your myDavy password, please follow the steps in the video below to reset it.

When you have securely logged in to myDavy, you can review your portfolio.

If you have more than one Davy account, you can view your individual accounts by selecting the account from the left-hand menu on the investments page.

If you have one Davy account with Davy, this will be the default view when you log in.

Within each account summary, you can review the account’s valuation using the “doughnut” pie chart in the asset allocation tab located on top of the page. When you hover over each section of the chart, the asset class, amount and percentage allocation will appear.

You can also drill down asset class levels by using the buttons above the “doughnut” pie chart.

Model & Variance tab contains details information about the investment model your account is assigned to and your account variance from that model (if any)

The Portfolio Value details displayed within the account summary are:

  • Portfolio Value: The current value of your investments.
  • Invested Value: The current combined value of your shares, funds and ETFs.
  • Cash Value: The current value of the cash in your account.
  • Available to Invest: The total amount of cleared cash on the account, adjusted for any unsettled sales or purchases, pending purchases, or fees.

From this list you can review your holdings and, by clicking on the Morningstar button, drill down to detailed prices and stock information. You also have the option to download this in PDF or Excel format.

Portfolio holdings history

To review your transactions in a particular holding, scroll down the page and select “Portfolio Holdings History” from the menu.

This functionality lets you review your transactions in a particular share, fund or Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) during a specified time period.

  • Choose the holding you want to review from a dropdown list of your holdings.
  • Set a start date and end date for the period that you want to review. The list will automatically update as you adjust the date period.

Statements

Within this section you can review Transaction, Income and Deposit statements. These can be searched for by date period and broken down by currency. You can download these in PDF or Excel format. You will find your dividends within your income statement.

Correspondence

To ensure funds are credited to your Davy account, please add your Davy client account number as a reference in the transfer. It is very important that you provide the correct client account number in the reference provided as failure to do so may lead to delays in updating your account.

We recommend that you regularly review your account via myDavy. We also recommend that you always carefully check any statements that we send you, including the Annual Client Asset Statement sent in October every year. In the event that you have any queries in relation to your account, please immediately contact a member of the Davy Select Team who will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

We have allocated Virtual IBANs for EUR transfers to some Davy accounts. If your account has been allocated a Virtual IBAN, you can find it in myDavy within My Accounts by selecting Transfer Money In tab.

Virtual IBAN for EURO transfers

A virtual IBAN works in the same way as a regular IBAN. It’s an account reference number that enables payments to be securely and efficiently routed to your Davy account.

Note virtual IBANs are account specific and should not be used for any other Davy accounts.

If you have previously saved the Davy bank details within your online banking portal/app, it is important that you now update the IBAN associated with your account with a virtual IBAN.
